  1. Am I eligible to be a patient at WCCC?
    • The WCCC is currently able to treat men and women, ages 19 and above, who meet the following criteria:
      1. are without health insurance
      2. live in New York City (all boroughs)
      3. earn less then 400% of the Federal income poverty level. As of 2008, this means:

  2. What can I expect on my first visit?
    1. Eligibility screening for government and private assistance programs
    2. Complete medical history and physical exam
    3. Health education
    4. Social work services
  3. If I do not have an appointment, may I walk in?
    • No—we do not accept walk-ins. If you require emergency care, call 911 or visit the nearest Emergency Department immediately.

    1. Primary health care services
    2. Eligibility screening for insurance programs
    3. Health education
    4. Social work services
    5. Certain prescription drugs
    6. Certain laboratory tests
    7. Coordinating access to community resources, including cancer screenings and eye care services
  5. What additional services can WCCC offer?
    • Patients may be eligible for the following services and procedures at a reduced cost:
      1. Referrals to specialists
      2. X-rays
      3. CT Scan
      4. MRI
      5. Ultrasound
  6. How do I schedule an appointment?
    • You may schedule an appointment through your community based organization. A limited number of appointments are currently available by or phone.
  7. How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
    • Please or phone. Reschedule early, as appointments fill up quickly.
  8. What should I bring to clinic for my first visit?
    1. A list of medications that you are currently taking.
    2. Previous medical records, if available.
    3. Proof of income (tax return, pay stub, letter from employer, social security paperwork). This information is used to screen patients for Medicaid/Family Health Plus and for programs that offer discounted medications. It may also be used to determine whether your income qualifies you for treatment at the WCCC. Otherwise, this information does not affect your healthcare or the other services available. If a family member or friend supports you, then please bring a copy of their proof of income.
